Kansas City Chiefs Celebrate Win, 2017 Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge

05/14/2018

The Kansas City Chiefs were recognized on May 11, 2018 for winning the 2017 Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge against the rest of the AFC West – Denver Broncos, LA Chargers and Oakland Raiders. Representatives from the Chiefs, Aramark and TEAM Coalition gathered for the celebration.

The Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge tracked the number of fans who pledged to be designated drivers at all 2017 regular season home games for all four teams. Each fan who pledged to be a designated driver at Arrowhead Stadium earned the Chiefs 6 points in the challenge. Fans also had the opportunity to show support of their team’s responsibility efforts on social media to earn additional points. The Chiefs finished with 11,428 points compared to the Broncos 3,214, Chargers 937 and Raiders 770.

The Chiefs, Bud Light, Aramark and Levy have been working together successfully for the Bud Light Good Sport designated driver program for several seasons. This was their seventh consecutive win versus the AFC West teams.

The Bud Light Good Sport designated driver program is just one component of the fan behavior initiatives offered by the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Other components include:

  • A Fan Code of Conduct posted in and around Arrowhead Stadium
  • Text messaging “Chiefs + (your message)” to 69050 empowers fans to report disruptive behavior to security
  • Alcohol service policies including ID checks for all fans who appear to be 35 years of age or younger, no more than two alcoholic beverages per person per transaction and alcohol cut-off at the end of the third quarter
