Fans who attended the Arizona Cardinals game versus the Seattle Seahawks at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday January 3, 2016 were treated to a great day of football in Phoenix. The Cardinals fought hard and played well, and Cardinals fans showed amazing support for the home team in the Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge against their NFC West rivals. Over a thousand fans pledged to be Good Sports – designated drivers for their group. Responsible fans autographed a responsibility wall and received a free souvenir photo.
Each designated driver is worth a “touchdown” (6 points) in the competition. The Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge winner will be the team with the most points at the end of the season. Click here to see the Challenge Standings.
Partners in the Cardinals successful designated driver program include Bud Light, Hensley Distributing, Coca Cola, Rojo Hospitality and the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
US DOT / NHTSA 2014 NATIONAL DATA:
• In 2014, 9,967 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, a decrease of 1% from the 10,076 fatalities in 2013.
• Many, if not most of those lives would have been saved if people did not drive when they were impaired by alcohol or if they used sober, designated drivers or if they simply wore their seat belts.
• Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash, drive when impaired by alcohol, and fail to buckle up.
