Buffalo Bills Celebrate Responsibility Bowl IV Win

04/30/2018

The Buffalo Bills celebrated their fourth Responsibility Bowl championship on April 27, 2018 as part of their draft day celebration. The Responsibility Bowl is a season-long tournament among NFL teams. The Bills outscored the competition through four preliminary rounds that spanned from preseason through week 16 of the 2017 regular season. The Bills faced the division-rival New England Patriots in the final round of the Responsibility Bowl.

More than 25,000 Bills fans signed up to be the designated driver for their friends and family during the 2017 season. Several thousand more shared #BillsFansNeverDriveDrunkSweeps on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to earn additional points for their favorite team. No other NFL team could compete, leading to a Bills fourth-consecutive victory in the Responsibility Bowl. Responsible fans joined Zach Rutkowski and Jack Neitz  from the Buffalo Bills for the presentation of the Responsibility Bowl trophy.

The Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver program is operated at New Era Field in conjunction with partners the Buffalo Bills, Delaware North Sportservice, MADD and TEAM Coalition.

We’re especially proud of the Buffalo Bills and their repeat Responsibility Bowl victory,” said Jill Pepper, TEAM Coalition executive director. “The Bills and all their stadium partners, including Delaware North Sportservice and Contemporary Services Corporation, have truly embraced the message of alcohol responsibility from training and certifying employees in alcohol management to encouraging fans to pledge to be designated drivers. There is no better proof of the Buffalo Bills commitment to responsible fan behavior than winning a fourth Responsibility Bowl trophy. Congratulations to the team, your stadium partners and your fans. Jill Pepper, Executive Director, TEAM Coalition

US DOT / NHTSA 2016 NATIONAL DATA:

•In 2016, 10,497 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, an increase of 1.7% from the 10,265 fatalities in 2015.

• Many, if not most of those lives would have been saved if people did not drive when they were impaired by alcohol or if they used sober, designated drivers or if they simply wore their seat belts.

• Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash.
