The Washington Redskins were recognized on April 19, 2017 for winning the 2016 Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge against the New York Giants. Representatives from the Redskins and TEAM Coalition gathered for the celebration.
The Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge tracked the number of fans who pledged to be designated drivers at all 2016 regular season home games for both teams. Each fan who pledged to be a designated driver at FedEx Field earned the Redskins 6 points in the challenge. Fans also had the opportunity to show support of their team’s responsibility efforts on social media to earn additional points. The Redskins finished with 33,588 points compared to the Giants 22,224.
The Redskins and Anheuser-Busch have been working together successfully for the Bud Light Good Sport designated driver program for several seasons. This was their sixth consecutive win versus the Giants.
The Bud Light Good Sport designated driver program is just one component of the fan behavior initiatives offered by the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field. Other components include:
- A Fan Code of Conduct posted in and around FedEx Field
- Text messaging “Skins + (your message)” to 69050 empowers fans to report disruptive behavior to security
- Alcohol service policies including ID checks for all fans, no more than two alcoholic beverages per person per transaction and alcohol cut-off at the end of the third quarter
