Fans who attended the FC Dallas game versus Sporting KC were treated to a hard fought contest between two rival clubs that ended in a 2-2 tie. 62 fans also helped FC Dallas earn points in the Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge against the Houston Dynamo and Sporting KC by pledging to be Good Sports – the designated driver for their group.Each designated driver is worth 3 points in the Challenge. The Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge winner will be the club with the most points at the end of the season. With support from fans at this rivalry game, FC Dallas is making an effort to even up the score in the Challenge Standings.

FC Dallas, Budweiser, Ben E. Keith and TEAM Coalition partnered to promote responsible drinking and traffic safety at FC Dallas Stadium, encouraging fans to become designated drivers.

WHAT: FC Dallas, Budweiser, Ben E. Keith and TEAM Coalition rewarded fans who pledged to be designated drivers, which means they are over 21 years of age, they promised not to drink alcohol at the game and they promised to provide safe transportation home from the grame for their group. Responsible fans autographed a larger-than-life soccer ball and received a free souvenir photo.

  • In 2011, 9,878 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, a decline of 2.5% from the 10,136 fatalities in 2010.

  • Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash, drive when impaired by alcohol, and fail to buckle up.
