Fans who attended the Kansas City Chiefs game versus the Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium on Sunday November 1, 2015 enjoyed the final of three NFL games played in London this season. And they showed tremendous support for the Kansas City Chiefs in the Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge and the Budweiser message – Make a Plan to Make it Home. Fans who pledged to never drive drunk autographed a responsibility wall and received a free souvenir photo.
Two lucky fans were selected among all those who participated as the Responsible Fans of the Game. The winners, Matt Davidson and Sheeva Rabiee, each received a Chiefs T-shirt among other prize pack items.
Every photograph taken was posted on Facebook with the hashtag #ChiefsDD. Each post earned the Chiefs an “extra point” (1 point) in the competition. The Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge winner will be the team with the most points at the end of the season. Click here to see the Challenge Standings.
The Chiefs are also participating in the Responsibility Bowl, a league-wide tournament encouraging responsible fan behavior with respect to alcohol. The Chiefs face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Round 2. See how the two teams stack up on Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.
US DOT / NHTSA 2013 NATIONAL DATA:
• In 2013, 10,076 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, a decrease of 2.4% from the 10,322 fatalities in 2012.
• Many, if not most of those lives would have been saved if people did not drive when they were impaired by alcohol or if they used sober, designated drivers or if they simply wore their seat belts.
• Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash, drive when impaired by alcohol, and fail to buckle up.
