Have Great Taste. Never Drink and Drive. Always Have a Designated Driver. That was the responsibility message that Miller Lite and TEAM Coalition shared with race fans on Friday October 11th and Saturday October 12th in advance of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. 494 fans took the pledge to Celebrate Responsibly – a promise to prevent drunk driving and always have a designated driver.
All of the participating fans had the opportunity to test their skills with the Miller Lite bean bag toss for a chance to win a Miller Lite branded cell phone wallet or koozie. Then they autographed the responsibility wall and smiled for a free souvenir photo. Finally, they had a chance to be selected as the Responsible Fan for the Race. The 252 photos taken have been shared 526 times via text forwarding and social media, an average of 2.1 views per photo.
One randomly selected, responsible fan will win the Responsibility Has Its Rewards (RHIR) sweepstakes. The grand prize includes two tickets and a VIP experience for two at the 2020 GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26, 2019.
US DOT / NHTSA 2017 NATIONAL DATA:
• In 2017, 10,874 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, a decrease of 1.1% from the 10,996 fatalities in 2016.
• Many, if not most of those lives would have been saved if people did not drive when they were impaired by alcohol or if they used sober, designated drivers or if they simply wore their seat belts.
• Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash, drive when impaired by alcohol, and fail to buckle up.
