TEAM Training Awards

TEAM Coalition recognizes sports teams, concessionaires, and individual trainers for their commitment to responsible alcohol management. Sports team and concessions winners are selected based on the number of staff trained in effective alcohol management relative to the total number of event employees. Trainers are recognized for the total number of employees they certify in the TEAM program.

2010 Operations Winners

In fiscal year 2010, more operations staff members of sports teams than ever were certified in TEAM Coalition’s alcohol management program across the leagues and nation. Three categories of awards were given this year. The Prestigious Achievement award recognizes those organizations in which at least 90% of TOTAL STAFF is TEAM certified. The Championship Performance category recognizes those organizations which, in 2010 alone, certified 100% of the operations staff necessary to operate the building for an average event. The Excellent Performer category recognizes those organizations which, in 2010, certified more than 50% of the operations staff necessary to operate the building for an average event.

In 2008, more operations staff than ever were certified in TEAM Coalition’s alcohol management program across the leagues and nation. More MLB clubs, NFL teams, NBA and NHL venues certified their staff, honored with the Championship Performance category (100% of operations staff certified) as well as the Excellent Performer category (more than 50% of operations staff certified). Certain MLB clubs are honored with the Prestigious Achievement award which recognizes that at least 80% of their total staff was certified this past year, highlighting their training over the past three years. TEAM also added a new catagory this year – Hall of Fame. This award goes to those who TEAM Cetrified the Senior Management of the Facility, Team, or Organization. In 2007, more operations staff than ever were certified in TEAM Coalition’s alcohol management program across the leagues and nation. Major League Baseball has set the standard for participation in the TEAM program by a professional sports league. Each of the 30 MLB clubs participates in the TEAM program through a combination of employee training, fan education of designated driver programs, and alcohol service policies. In 2003, TEAM recognized several MLB clubs for significant accomplishments in employee training. The clubs named below trained at a minimum 50% of their game day employees in effective alcohol management. And several clubs trained over 100%.

2003 Concessions Winners
ARAMARK has set the standard for participation in the TEAM program by a concessionaire. Nearly every MLB ballpark with ARAMARK serving as the concessionaire incorporates TEAM into employee training and the ARAMARK Serves You Right Designated Driver Program. In 2003, TEAM recognized several ARAMARK offices for significant accomplishments in employee training. The ARAMARK offices named below trained at a minimum 50% of their game day concessiosn employees in effective alcohol management. And several offices trained over 100%.
