Detroit Tigers Enjoy Miller Time Responsibly at Home Opener

The Detroit Tigers teamed with Miller Lite (the official beer of the Detroit Tigers) and TEAM Coalition to promote the designated driver program at Comerica Park for the Tigers 2016 home opener on Friday April 8, 2016. While the Tigers shut out the Yankees 4-0, hundreds of responsible fans made the pledge to be designated drivers, by staying sober and ensuring a safe ride home for their group.

Designated drivers earned a soft drink compliments of Delaware North Sportservice. In addition, fans added their names to the Responsibility Ball – an 8-foot replica of a baseball mitt and ball – to demonstrate their commitment to making sure everyone got home safe. Every fan who made the pledge and signed the ball had the opportunity to receive a souvenir photo.

We believe that with great beer comes great responsibility and we’re thrilled to partner with the Detroit Tigers and TEAM Coalition to help promote responsibility at Comerica Park. For many fans, enjoying a beer at the ballpark is part of the baseball experience, and we want to encourage fans to enjoy the game responsibly and plan ahead for a safe ride home.Diane Wagner, Responsibility Commerce Manager, MillerCoors
The success of the ‘Responsibility Has Its Rewards’ campaign is a direct result of the commitment from our members and all the responsibility program partners, including the leagues, Clubs, ballparks, concessions companies, brewers and beer distributors. Teamwork is what this campaign is all about. We are demonstrating that when everyone – including the fans – takes responsibility, everyone wins.Jill Pepper, Executive Director, TEAM Coalition

Drunk driving prevention is the top priority for TEAM Coalition and all its 24-member organizations, which include MLB and MillerCoors.
