San Diego, CA. (6/20/2014) – TEAM Coalition (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) proudly recognized this year’s training certification and designated driver program award winners at the 2014 NFL Security Seminar on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

TEAM Coalition is a unique alliance of professional and collegiate sports, entertainment facilities, concessionaires, stadium service providers, the beer industry, distillers, broadcasters, governmental traffic safety experts and others working together to promote responsible drinking and positive fan behavior at sports and entertainment facilities. “Alcohol management training and certification is the bread and butter of what the Coalition offers its members. More than 24,000 employees of NFL stadiums became TEAM certified last season,” said Jill Pepper, TEAM executive director. “It is a testament to the NFL’s commitment to employee training and its positive impact on fan behavior.”

2013 TEAM Training Award Winners
In 2013, more than 50,000 employees from 162 facilities became certified in the training program. Nearly 50% of that total represented employees of NFL stadiums – ushers, ticket takers, guest services representatives and the employees of concessionaire companies.

Championship Performance
S.A.F.E. Management at EverBank Field (home of the Jacksonville Jaguars) earned this award by certifying 100% of their game day staff in preparation for the 2013 NFL season.
Excellent Performer
The Georgia Dome (home of the Altanta Falcons) earned this award for certifying 50% of their game day staff in preparation for the 2013 NFL season.
2013 Designated Driver Award Winners
252,445 NFL fans pledged to be designated drivers during the 2013 NFL season. The Designated Drivers for the Season from the Denver Broncos, Karin Cambria, and the Seattle Seahawks, Luke Johnson, attended Super Bowl XLVIII® as the grand prize winners of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes for designated drivers.

The first prize in the RHIR sweepstakes was awarded to the Designated Driver for the Season from the Chicago Bears – Coleen Peppin. Ms. Peppin received a trip to the 2014 Pro Bowl in Honolulu, HI.
