Before the race, 264 fans made the pledge to be designated drivers for their group. All of them had the opportunity to autograph a responsibility wall, receive a free souvenir photo and instant prizes and enter for a chance to be selected as the Designated Driver for the Race. One randomly selected, responsible fan will win the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. The grand prize includes two tickets and two hot passes to the next NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway in October, 2016.

While we want every fan that comes to Kansas Speedway to enjoy everything about their race experience as much as possible, safety is always the top priority. With that in mind, we commend the fans that chose to serve as designated drivers for their family or friends during race weekend.Patrick Warren, President, Kansas Speedway

US DOT / NHTSA 2014 NATIONAL DATA:

• In 2014, 9,967 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, a decrease of 1% from the 10,076 fatalities in 2013.

• Many, if not most of those lives would have been saved if people did not drive when they were impaired by alcohol or if they used sober, designated drivers or if they simply wore their seat belts.

• Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash, drive when impaired by alcohol, and fail to buckle up.
