Dolphins Fans Make A Plan to Make Home at NFL London Game

10/05/2015

Fans who attended the Miami Dolphins game versus the New York Jets at Wembley Stadium on Sunday October 4, 2015 enjoyed the first of three NFL games played in London this season. And they showed tremendous support for the Miami Dolphins in the Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge and the Budweiser message – Make a Plan to Make it Home. Fans who pledged to never drive drunk autographed a responsibility wall and received a free souvenir photo.

One lucky fan was selected among all those who participated as the Responsible Fan of the Game. The winner, Marc Green of Newton, Wales, received an autographed Reshad Jones (Safety, #20) football among other prize pack items.

Every photograph taken was posted on Facebook with the hashtag #DolphinsDD. Each post earned the Dolphins an “extra point” (1 point) in the competition. The Bud Light Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge winner will be the team with the most points at the end of the season. Click here to see the Challenge Standings.

The Dolphins are also participating in the Responsibility Bowl, a league-wide tournament encouraging responsible fan behavior with respect to alcohol. The Dolphins face the Detroit Lions in Round 2. See how the two teams stack up on Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.

The positive contributions made by TEAM are far reaching. Its mission is important to fans and spectators in stadiums, but its message also contributes to responsible conduct in our communities at large. The NFL strongly supports the TEAM program, and we are proud to be a member of the TEAM Coalition.Roger Goodell, Commissioner, National Football League

US DOT / NHTSA 2013 NATIONAL DATA:

• In 2013, 10,076 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, a decrease of 2.4% from the 10,322 fatalities in 2012.

• Many, if not most of those lives would have been saved if people did not drive when they were impaired by alcohol or if they used sober, designated drivers or if they simply wore their seat belts.

• Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash, drive when impaired by alcohol, and fail to buckle up.
